Welcome back to the week my friends! What did you get up to?
This weekend On Friday I received a beeeeautiful bunch of flowers from Justine Rose inviting me to the launch of their new shop. Let me tell you it was an awesome surprise to pop home and see these sitting on the front doorstep!
I went a bit crazy and posted lots of photos to Tilly's instagram feed (Yup, she has her own instagram feed) Whenever I'm breastfeeding I pop a new little picture on there and I have to say its a nice little collection of Tilly's life and how much she's grown. You can check it out with the username @tillyalicemcgrath
I drank lots of tea and I have to tell you in tasted so much better out of my 'worlds best mum' mug!!!! Yup, that's right - worlds best mum. It is my favourite mothers day present.

My Weekend Project: Super Easy Vintage Linen Curtains
It's Friday my friends! Woop Woop! What are you up to this weekend? I'm going to work on a project for my kitchen, I visited a new friends house yesterday and I was blown away by her kitchen - she's strung some pretty vintage linen over the kitchen windows for a very pretty (but more importantly for a time poor mum) very easy look. Just like this picture from Remodelista, my plan is to take a vintage linen, a piece of clothes line and with a bit of draping make my very own kitchen curtains. I promise to take some photos so you can see how it turns out. Whatever you do this weekend I hope its lovely. xxxx PS - Check out my living room curtains from West Elm, some sweet ass DIY striped curtains or how about the curtains I made for Tilly from our wedding drapery?

Hair Trends: Floral Crowns
Today I want to let you into my latest ob-sessh-on. Say hello to floral crowns - big, luscious flowers, berries and ferns create the perfect alternative to a veil. I reckon if I had my own wedding again then I would definitely be rocking a floral crown. I've been seeing so many pictures on Pinterest and it got me thinking how would I be able to achieve this look for myself.
So! I've picked out 4 awesome tutorials so we can all trial the look ourselves. Click over to any of these bad boys for your own DIY floral crown.

My Sister and the IKEA Vittsjo Hack
My lovely little sister LuLu has bought an apartment and she is going to move in very shortly. Money is tight so rather than buying lots of new (and expensive) furniture we've been scouting out some clever DIY ideas.
Sources: Home with Heather, Home Sweet Home, Anna Antunes
I'm so keen for her to do this IKEA vittsjo hack - the bookshelves will be perfect to display her books and TV. I love how simple and streamlined the shape of the vittsjo is but there are soooo many ways to brighten it up - my money is on a gold spray paint job.
Now it won't be long till she's into her place so I promise I'll take lots of pictures of the full IKEA hack!!!

My Fun Fabric Mothers Day Gift Wrapping
Welcome back to the week! How was your mothers day? Mine was awesome. The Big A and Tilly gave me a brilliant mug that says "Worlds Best Mum" along with this little number from KiKi K. I'll try and post some pics soon.
In the mean time I wanted to show you the fun fabric gift wrapping I did for Tilly's presents to the grandma's(aka Granny Pammy and Nanna Mac). I'd framed some pictures of each of them holding Tilly the day she was born and then framed them.
With the present sorted I still had a bit of time left so I thought I would do something fun with the wrapping. I've been really inspired by the bright and cheery florals that Lady Chattersleys Affair uses so I raided my fabric and ribbon stash and came up with a great Amy Butler retro print for Granny Pammy and a pretty country blue floral for Nanna Mac.
To give it a bit of interest I found a few bits to complement the look - Typo had some great letters on sale and I had pink ribbons aplenty from the baby shower so I popped those in top to pull the look together.
So there you have it - something a little bit different but super fun. Tell me, would you try this gift wrap?

My First Mothers Day
Happy mothers day to all my fellow mums out there! It's my first mothers day ever and I'm so excited to celebrate with with my beautiful Tilly. These past (nearly) three months have been an amazing journey. After quite the crash course in mothering (hello breastfeeding and settling issues!) I'm starting to feel some resemblance of normality and my confidence as a mum is getting up there.
Tilly grows every day and is blossoming into quite a little character. She loves looking at the sky and when I make train noises she thinks they are awesome. She loves to smile when she wakes up and sees me. She hates super loud noises and that bottom lip starts quivering. I hate to say it but that lip quiver is pretty cute! I hope for all the mums out there you enjoy your special day.

Tahlia & William's Parkside Wedding
While checking out one of my favourite wedding planners The Style Co I came across their parklands wedding of the very cute Tahlia & William (Would you just look at William's glasses? I'm a sucker for them!) Beck Rocchi captured all the fun on the day and I couldn't get over how a few simple details create such a big impact. A heart shaped wreath matched with a simple fabric draping makes for a ceremony backdrop to die for. Match that with a floral head piece, a lace and chiffon gown and a bow tie to boot and you've got yourself a little piece of wedding magic.

When Tilly Grows Up .... Preppy Kids Room
Decorating my beautiful Tilly's room was one of my all time favourite projects I've done. I took risks outside of my comfort zone and the results were really awesome. Now this room would take me out of my comfort zone x 100 but I am so in love with what J&J Design have been able to achieve for this little girls preppy room. I'm loving how they've taken traditional elements and through bold wallpaper, pops of bright colours and golds the room has been injected with fun and personality. I could see Tilly in here in a few years. PS - Check out my gold mirror inspired by those lovely little lamps...
